What Started It All! 

The Doodle Challenge started as a prompt to spark new ways of thinking.

First, in classrooms with both children and adults to spark new ideas during transition moments. Then in corporate settings: icebreakers for new teams, morale boosts during hard sprints, creative warm-ups for burned-out minds. Then on dates. And at events. People used it to understand how each other thought.

To connect. To laugh.

Then in 2018, everything changed.

PLAYSTRUCK founder, Christina Kaputsos, experienced a traumatic incident that left her cognition, focus, word-finding, and stress levels severely impacted to the point that she had to relearn how to speak. Alongside traditional therapy and other brain trainers, she used a tool of her own creation: The Doodle Challenge. She recovered. And then she asked, “Why?”

She partnered with neuroscientists and cognitive researchers. They discovered something measurable:

a 35% decrease in stress in adults after just 15 minutes of doodling. She worked with a play therapist and a school counselor. They found the same benefits for students. Then for parents. For children. For people of all ages with ADHD, memory loss, stress, burnout, and neurodivergent minds. And soon testimonials began to pour in from parents, teachers, individuals those who swore they were “not creative” all experienced the transformative power of The Doodle Challenge.

The Doodle Challenge launched publicly in 2019 out of the Lululemon flagship store in New York City, earning the Parent Teacher Choice Award from Howtolearn.com and found it’s way into six countries across the globe.
